Fairfax County police have identified the woman found dead near Difficult Run Trail in Great Falls Monday morning. Carmen Lizet Puch, 42, of Reston was found lying next to her car in a gravel parking lot near the trail.
Officers responded to the 8800 block of Georgetown Pike after a jogger reported an unconscious woman lying near a 2011 Honda Civic. Detectives determined that the car was registered to Puch. She had trauma to her upper body and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
FCPD detectives are investigating the death as a homicide and say they are working to process evidence and identify a suspect. An autopsy will be conducted by the chief medical examiner’s office to determine cause and manner of death.
