Northern Virginia’s latest developments include a new brewery in Leesburg and paid parking at Reston Town Center.

Black Walnut Brewery Opens in Leesburg
Downtown Leesburg is home to many restaurants and some retail. Now the main strip of King Street is getting a brewery. Black Walnut Brewery, gaining its name from the black walnut trees that canopy the back outdoor deck of the establishment, is expected to offer five homemade brews. This dog-friendly brewery will be joined later by a separate brewery, Black Hoof Brewery, expected to open on King Street later this fall.

Route 123 to Become Superstreet
Fairfax County officials are looking to make a stretch of Route 123 in Tysons a superstreet, meaning there will only be left turns at designated intersections so traffic can keep moving. This is still in the study phase.

Pay to Park at Reston Town Center
Beginning Aug. 1, patrons to Reston Town Center will have to pay to park. Parking will still be free on weekends but will cost $2 an hour on weekdays. Boston Properties, owners of Reston Town Center, states the reason of going to a paid system is due to the new Metro stop and is a measure to cut down on commuter parking.
