Arlington considers bus-only lane for Lee Highway; Loudoun schools to reevaluate transgender student bathroom use policy

Arlington will consider a proposal to create a bus-only lane on Lee Highway in order to accommodate increased traffic during the Metro’s forthcoming early closures and repairs. The plan would establish a bus-dedicated lane between North Veitch and North Moore streets.

Loudoun County Public Schools will reevaluate its policy regarding transgender students’ bathroom and locker room use following a recent letter from the U.S. departments of Justice and Education that called for schools to allow students to use bathrooms corresponding to their gender identities. Previously, Loudoun’s policy required transgender students to use gender neutral bathrooms.

The Arlington County Board approved a proposal for the redevelopment of the Berkeley Apartments on South Glebe Road that would replace the existing buildings with two five-story facilities with 257 units. The plan designates 155 of those units for affordable housing.
