You don’t have to go all the way to San Diego to enjoy a Comic Con. In fact, you can just drive to Manassas this weekend to experience the inaugural ARTfactory’s Super Con.
Hosted on April 27, this fandom and artist convention will transform the entire three-level building into a comic con fan’s dream come true. The one-day event will run from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
The day will be full of entertainment for fans of all ages and fandoms. Activities include a cosplay costume contest, kids’ corner, tabletop and PC gaming, an artists’ alley and exhibitors’ gallery, and panels. The panels include Group Cosplay, Tabletop Gaming Strategy, and a Focus on Reuse and Recycling in Cosplay.
Super Art Fight will perform live at 6:30 p.m. in the Wind River Theater. The live art competition puts two or more artists face-to-face as they draw whatever may pop up on the crowd-sourced generator, known as the Wheel of Death, and compete for the audience’s highest scores. Tickets for the show are $25.
Tickets are still available for fans who want to experience their first-ever Super Con. General admission tickets are $25 and tickets for children (12 and under) are $15. There is a package available, which gives you access to Super Con and the Super Art Fight show later in the night, for $45. 9419 Battle St., Manassas
