Falls Church Is Launching a Month-Long Fitness Challenge

The city is encouraging residents to engage in wellness activities throughout April.

Ready to get fit, Falls Church? The city is kicking off the Falls Church Fitness Challenge, a month-long initiative designed to promote wellness for residents of all activity levels.

The challenge will run from April 1 to April 30. It’s completely free, with no registration required.

This is a “revamped version” of the former Mayors’ Fitness Challenge between Fairfax, Falls Church, and Vienna. The event comes after Falls Church earned the title of Healthiest Community in America from U.S. News and World Report.

To participate, Falls Church residents can pick up or print a Passport Challenge, which outlines 32 different tasks that promote mental and physical wellness, like working out with a friend, trying a new sport, or taking a digital detox.

Participants can choose which activities to try, then mark them off the card as they go. Starting April 21, you can turn in passes to redeem prizes. Six challenges completed will earn you a fitness challenge decal, while 18 will earn you a pair of sports socks, and 32 will earn you a duffel bag.

Falls Church will also host a series of free fitness pop-ups at parks in the area, including a WERQ dance fitness class on April 5 and Slow Flow Yoga on April 8.

In addition, 21 fitness and wellness businesses will offer specials and discounts, including Burn Boot Camp, Cyclebar, and Rumble Boxing.
