2019 TOP LAWYER METHODOLOGY
To compile the Top Lawyers listing, we sent surveys to Northern Virginia and DC lawyers asking them to recommend other lawyers to whom they would refer friends and family. Those on the listing received the most nominations. For the first time in our annual Top Lawyers list, we’ve expanded it to include lawyers who practice in Washington, DC. There are many great lawyers in NoVA, but there are worthy ones in the District too. We know many readers work in DC and offering these options adds more convenience to your search. Plus, there are many lawyers in DC with expertise worth travelling for. While the lawyers on this list practice in Northern Virginia and/or DC, they may also be licensed in Maryland and other parts of the United States. Although some Top Lawyer winners choose to advertise in the magazine, lawyers cannot pay to be included on the list. The listing and advertising section are separate entities.
