Historic Ellicott City in Maryland is hosting the 35th Decorator Showhouse fundraiser September 17 through October 11. More than a dozen talented designers will work to transform various rooms and outdoor spaces at Valhalla. The home dates to the 1800s and sits on 100 acres. The land can be traced back to a grant to John Marriott in the 1700s.
The event is held on Thursdays through Sundays, with varied hours each day. Proceeds support HEC’s mission to advance preservation and restoration projects throughout Howard County.
“We’re excited to revive this innovative fundraiser, an event that not only highlights the vital work we do throughout the community but also offers a colorful platform for local designers to showcase their creativity. By preserving historic sites and landmarks, championing strong preservation policies, and supporting restoration projects, we ensure that the treasured places that define our region can be experienced and enjoyed for generations to come,” Connie Siegel, marketing and membership chair, said in a release.
Tickets are $40 and are now on sale.
