Massanutten Resort Transforms its Water Park into a Winter Wonderland Light Display

The nearby resort is not only a must-visit destination for snow sports, but also holiday light displays.

During the summer, Massanutten resort is a go-to for water park adventures. But, during the winter, the resort says goodbye to the water park and hello to a light display with its Light Up the Park experience.

For a few weeks a year, the outdoor water park is dressed to the nines with holiday lights and displays that’ll make you forget you’re in a water park. Walk the festive path to find a dancing tree show, snowflake tunnel, and interactive orb field.

Kids will be happy to visit the new Santa’s Workshop where they’ll get the chance to make three holiday-themed crafts, including a gingerbread house, reindeer antlers, and Christmas tree ornaments. Workshop guests also receive a pair of 3D glasses to help heighten the magic of the light display. Tickets to the workshop are $10.

The display runs select nights until January 4. Make sure to check the calendar to see which nights Santa Claus makes a visit.

If you want to make a weekend out of your visit to the resort, Massanutten offers ice skating, snowboarding and skiing, snow tubing, and an indoor water park.

Tickets for Light Up the Park range from $16 to $25 for guests 13 older and $12 to $20 for kids ages 3-12. Kids ages 2 and under are free. The park also offers group rates for groups of 20 or more people.
