Eight new stores and concessions will be added at Dulles International Airport, and seven new ones are planned for Reagan National Airport.
The 15 are part of a multi-year program to redevelop more than 80 concessions at both airports, the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority said.
“Having a mix of local and national brands at our airports represents added value for passengers,” said Jaimini Erskine, Airports Authority vice president for marketing and concessions, in a statement. “We continue to seek out new brands that showcase the Washington region experience.”
Five of the eight businesses coming to Dulles will sell travel essentials. They are The Goods @ IAD, IAD Express, Capital Supply Co., Washington Essentials, and Relay. Washington Essentials will be in the pre-security area. Relay will feature gourmet snacks, gifts, books, and more.
The other three businesses are Starbucks; Plum Market, which will have all-natural, organic, local, and specialty items; and Brighton, where you will find handcrafted accessories, jewelry, and leather goods.
Other recently opened concessions at Dulles include the bookstore Ink by Hudson, a Hudson grab-and-go market called Market 1962 (named after the year the airport opened), a Hudson news and gift shop, Freshii, and Potbelly. Freshii sells healthy salads, bowls, and wraps. Potbelly offers sandwiches.
Reagan National Airport will get a Lego store that will sell its bricks and gifts, including architectural sets of monuments and landmarks.
There will be two new travel essential spots — one called Eastern Market and the other called Monumental News. Solid State Books plans to open. There will be a Starbucks, plus two new places to eat. Mi Vida, which has a location at The Wharf in DC, will have Mexican food, while Nalley Fresh is a Maryland-based chain that sells salads, wraps, and bowls.
