Getaway Shenandoah allows for guests to book a cabin with a view near Shenandoah National Park’s waterways and waterfalls, which guests can easily find by going on a nearby hike, like White Oak Canyon Trail. About two hours away from NoVA and DC, Getaway — which has locations across the U.S. — offers 45 cabins with queen beds, a kitchen, a private bathroom, and even a phone lockbox, so you can unplug for the duration of your stay. Visitors can watch or even help as Back Creek Farms makes some of Virginia’s finest syrup from nearby maple trees. There’s no way to talk about staying in the forest without bringing up glamping. Through the Depot Lodge, guests can stay in tents with a twist.
