Spend New Year’s Eve at one of these area hotels

Ring in the New Year (and give a hearty goodbye to 2020) with a luxe staycation at one of these local properties.

The Watergate

The storied DC hotel is offering several packages for New Year’s Eve. The Premium Suite Package (starting at $8,000) includes private dinner for up to six people and overnight stay for two in a spacious Ambassador Suite; the Private Presidential Suite Party (starting at $15,000) includes private dinner for up to 10 people and an overnight stay for two in a spacious Presidential Suite; and the NYE Romance Package (starting at $1,600) includes accommodations for two, private access from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. to the heated indoor pool, a bottle of chilled Champagne, gourmet macarons and a bouquet of roses. Guests booking a room or suite over Dec. 31 get special discounted access to one of their winter igloos (pictured above), which holds up to six guests and usually starts at $800 plus food and beverage minimum. // 2650 Virginia Ave. NW, Washington, DC

The Ivy Hotel

Start off 2021 at this Baltimore boutique property, which is running a cleverly-named packaged dubbed “What Are Veuve Doing New Year’s Eve?” Spend one night in a luxurious room or suite, indulge in a Champagne and bergamot spa treatment for two, raise your glasses at midnight with a bottle of Veuve Clicquot La Grande Dame 2008 Champagne in your room and enjoy a full gourmet breakfast the next morning. Included as well are the Ivy’s amenities, like black car service within city limits, cocktails at the Mansion Bar, Zents bath amenities, Frette linens, use of the fitness center and gratuities (except at Magdalena.) Sagamore Pendry Baltimore

Savor dishes from the Chef’s Tasting Menu at Rec Pier Chop House, then take the celebration to your room with a complimentary bottle of Champagne, selection of desserts and in-room movies; the next morning, enjoy breakfast in bed. For each night reserved, receive a $100 hotel credit ($200 for suites and $300 or specialty suites) and a complimentary upgrade at time of check-in to be used towards a variety of experiences including spa treatments, in-room movies, the Moët & Chandon Vending Machine, in-room dining or dining at the Pool Bar or Rec Pier Chop House. Mandarin Oriental

The “Stay in NYE” promotion at the luxury hotel located on the Southwest Waterfront includes accommodations, a bottle of Moët & Chandon Brut Champagne welcome amenity, a five-course tasting menu for two with a bottle of vintage 2008 Dom Perignon Champagne and party favors to ring in the New Year. Riggs Washington DC

The luxury hotel housed in the former Riggs National Bank Building is offering a New Year’s Eve package priced from $565 plus tax and gratuities. It includes an overnight stay in a room (with the option to upgrade to a suite for an additional cost), a three-course dinner at Café Riggs and a bottle of Champagne Gosset Brut in your room to toast the end of 2020 and the beginning of a new year. Dinner begins with a glass of bubbly and an hors d’oeuvre medley of Osetra caviar, smoked salmon rillette, foie and chicken liver mousse, mushroom vol au vent and a mini lobster roll. There is a choice of chanterelle risotto, lobster tartine or chicken ballotine stuffed with walnut, squash and kale (with an optional truffle supplement available for any entree), followed by either clafoutis, pallet d’or or saint honore for dessert. // 900 F St. NW, Washington, DC
