Prepare to be dazzled — the circus is coming to town. These six performances with performances planned in DC, NoVA, and Maryland will stun audiences with their acrobatic feats and comedic performances, whether they take place in a real big-top tent or take their place on stage instead.

Circus Vazquez

September 6–15, September 20–October 29

The big tent will pop up in Woodbridge and then in Tysons for this classic circus experience. Watch as performers like juggler José Alberto Vazquez, a duo of daredevils, and comedian Boris Nikishkin carry out their enchanting acts. September 6–15, Potomac Mills Mall: 2700 Potomac Mills Cir., Woodbridge; September 20–October 29, Tysons II at Chain Bridge Road and Tysons Boulevard, tickets starting at $33.90

Cirque du Soleil will take the stage at Capital One Arena with this colorful show about the world of insects. As the cast performs acrobatic feats, the audience will meet an endearing cast of characters like a sweet butterfly who falls in love with a strange new insect, plus ants, a dragonfly, and butterflies that will clue viewers into the hidden universe that exists within ecosystems. Capital One Arena: 601 F St. NW, Washington, DC, tickets starting at $59

Paranormal Cirque

October 3–13

Take a trip to Western Maryland to experience a darker spin on the circus with this spooky show. It’s a performance full of “Acrobats of the Air, Illusionists, freaks, [and] mysterious creatures” that’s intended to evoke both fear and wonder for the audience. It’s not recommended for those who scare easily, and anyone under 13 is not allowed. Ages 13 to 17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Hagerstown Premium Outlets: 495 Premium Outlets Blvd., Hagerstown, Maryland, tickets starting at $20

I’mPossible by Omnium Circus

February 22, 2025

If you missed this show when it was in Tysons in February 2024, this is your chance to experience the fun. In what it describes as “America’s most extraordinary, inclusive, diverse, multi-sensory, accessible family circus experience,” Omnium Circus presents a circus experience with a focus on inclusivity and accessibility both on stage and in the crowd. Warner Theatre: 513 13th St. NW, Washington, DC, tickets TBA
