Come on Barbie, Let’s Go Party in NoVA and DC

It’s Barbie’s world. We’re just living in it.

Life in plastic, it’s fantastic. And so is celebrating Barbie. There are a variety of events and screenings around NoVA and DC that will keep you in the Barbie spirit past its premiere on July 21. From pajama movie watch parties to pink cocktails, the region is turning into a certified Barbie land.  

The Barbie Parties at Wunder Garten 

Various times from July 17–30 

No amount of Barbie parties is too many. This DC beer garden is transforming into a Barbie oasis with multiple events before and after the movie premiere. There will be a Barbie trivia parties, Barbie paint and sip, and a Malibu Pool Party. So wherever your Barbie interests lie, there is sure to be an activity for you. 1101 First St. NE, Washington, DC, free  

Barbie Slumber Party Pajama Screening at Alamo Drafthouse Cinema 

Starting July 21, 9:15 p.m. at Loudoun, 9:30 p.m. at Woodbridge 

There’s no better way to enjoy Barbie than at a slumber party. Grab your PJs, pack a pillow and blanket, and head to Alamo Drafthouse Cinema in Loudoun or Woodbridge for the theater’s special Barbie screening. Tickets are going fast, so make sure to buy yours now. (You may have to wait until after the premiere to get tickets for Woodbridge.) Barbie Yappy Hour with District Dogs at Metrobar 

July 21, 5 p.m.–9 p.m. 

The Barbie fun isn’t limited to those with just two legs. Bring your four-legged friends for a doggy Barbie cocktail hour at DC’s Metrobar. There will be dog-friendly cocktails, along with games, a Barbie costume contest, and festive snacks. 640 Rhode Island Ave. NE, Washington, DC, free  

Barbie Brunch Screening at Alamo Drafthouse Cinema 

July 22–23, 10:30 a.m. 

Not up for eating popcorn? Loudoun’s Alamo location has you covered. Try the theater’s Barbie Brunch screening, which will have items like Blueberry Donut French Toast Bake, Breakfast Tacos, and Coming Up Rosé Fizz. After all, a dignified film deserves a dignified meal. 20575 Easthampton Plaza, Ashburn, $12.75 

Barbie Let’s Go Tea Party at The Tea Cart 

July 29, 11 a.m., 4 p.m., 4:15 p.m. 

This family-friendly event will make any kid’s or adult’s Barbie dreams come true. The Tea Cart in Berryville is offering a three-course afternoon tea with an option to add on an open bar. There will also be a self-guided tour of the grounds, bounce house, and plenty of photo ops to capture the day. 16 W. Main St., Berryville, $85–$115 

Barbie Inspired Selfie Event at Selfie Social 

July 29, 12 p.m.–3 p.m. 

Lights, camera, Barbie selfie. This Fredericksburg event has the props and backdrops you need to feel like you are right inside Barbie’s world. Make sure to come in your pinkest, best Barbie-inspired outfit. 1277 Emancipation Hwy., Fredericksburg, $35 

Barbie Dream Bar at McLellan’s Retreat 

Through July 

During July, this DC bar has one motto: drink pink. To celebrate Barbie all month long, McClellan’s Retreat is offering a menu of themed cocktails, such as the Dreamtopia Barbie, Extra Fly Barbie, and Four Loko Barbie. Ken fans can try the citrusy Obligatory Ken Cocktail. McClellan’s Retreat is also offering a boozy Barbie Tea Party that serves three to four people, so make sure to bring your friends for an evening of fun. 2031 Florida Ave. NW, Washington, DC, $15–$70
