Dinosaurs come to life in this drive-thru experience

Enter the Jurassic Period with an up-close encounter with lifesize animatronic dinosaurs.

By Michele Kettner April 1, 2021 at 11:11 am

If you always wondered what it would be like to visit Jurassic Park, look no further than The Jurassic Encounter. While this dino experience doesn’t include real creatures like the movie, the experience is as real as it gets. The drive-thru exhibition is set to invade the Bull Run Events Center from May 14-31.

The Jurassic Encounter will feature more than 75 animatronic and static, giving cars an up-close and personal view of the life-like dinosaurs from the safety of their car. During the two-week event, tours will be available Wednesday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Along with dinosaurs of all shapes and sizes, the one-hour tour will feature a special in-car presentation. As you drive through the attraction, guests can listen to an audio tour through their phone or car speakers for infoabout the different species outside their window.

Being a drive-thru event, it offers a COVID safe experience. Although guests won’t have contact with staff, they will still be wearing masks, practicing social distancing, and following health guidelines. According to The Jurassic Encounter, equipment and other tactile areas will undergo regular sanitation practices.

Tickets for the event range from $49-$59, depending on the size of the number of passengers in your vehicle. If you would like to take part in extra dino fun, add-on packages are also available for purchase. Ranging from $15-$50, guests have the option to purchase adventure, encounter, or family packs to add to their tickets. These packages can include a variety of dino surprises, crafts, and souvenirs.
