You can now book a private disco session to alleviate stress and benefit a worthy cause

Dance it Out is a new interactive exhibit and community activation that’s perfect for your Covid bubble.

Besides being a great form of cardio workout, dance has been proven to alleviate stress, anxiety and fear. And it’s also just plain fun.

Maggie O’Neill, a DC-based artist, designer and creative entrepreneur and the co-founder of design agency SWATCHROOM, has just announced Dance It Out, a series of private in-person disco sessions. Held at 1287 4th St. NE in DC. between Union Market and La Consecha, the sessions are designed for up to six people and include 30 minutes of private disco, an area in which to change into your best disco outfit, music, lights, 150 disco balls, fun prizes and swag, and a professional photographer to document your moves.

Covid protocols are in place for the activation. Mandatory mask wearing is required and enforced even for photos, guests are asked to sanitize before and after they leave the space and staff begins each day by cleaning and sanitizing the space and do a thorough cleaning in-between each session. Anyone who books a session and is experiencing symptoms is invited to rebook for a future date and time.

Tickets cost $15 per person or $45 for a family of four who have children under 12, and can be booked online.  Sessions can be booked Fridays through Sundays from noon to 6 p.m. Groups will receive two professional photos and two GIFs from the experience, with the option to order additional photos.

A portion of proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to The Worker’s Relief Fund, which directly helps the servers and staff of restaurants that make up a strong collection of the DC population. The space is also available to rent for private disco parties; email [email protected] for more info.
