Where to Pick Your Own Lavender Around the DMV this Summer

Say so long to the spring florals and hello to these colorful and fragrant lavender stems.

By Michele Kettner May 18, 2026 at 8:31 am

Even though spring blooms are starting to fade, summer flowers are just about to burst. If you’re looking to add a little color and fragrance to your home this season, lavender is the way to go. With stems about to bloom across the region, start planning a visit to these lavender farms around the DMV.

Seven Oaks Lavender Farm

This small family farm is the perfect location for your lavender-inspired Instagram photos. The 2026 season at the pick-your-own farm in Fauquier County is scheduled to open on May 30. After you pick out the best stems in the field, make your way to the lavender shop for other flower-themed goods. 8769 Old Dumfries Rd., Catlett

Blooming Hill Lavender Farm & Gift Shop

Since 2010, this “farmlet” has planted 1,000 lavender plants across almost 100 different varieties. While exact dates for the U-Pick events have yet to be announced, guests can plan to roam the purple, pink, and white blooms, snipping their own stems along the way once the season starts. 19929 Telegraph Springs Rd., Purcellville

The Little House at Seek Lavender Farm

The family-owned and hand-harvested lavender farm awaits just outside of Northern Virginia in Culpeper. While the farm isn’t open daily for picking, it does host Pick-a-Posy events during the summer for lavender and elderberry picking. 15528 Bradford Rd., Culpeper

Kharis Lavender Fields

Using their European and South American influence, the owners of this budding lavender business are working to create the perfect picturesque farm experience for all of its guests. From the flowing purple fields to photography sessions and cooking experiences, this farm allows you to enjoy the best these blooms have to offer. 20910 Merle Dr., Gaithersburg, Maryland
