‘The Polar Express’ Will Come to Life at Gaylord National’s ICE!

The classic film will come to life at the National Harbor display.

By Jamie Gholson July 25, 2025 at 2:58 pm

If this oppressive summer heat has you dreaming of the cold, take heart. Gaylord National is already gearing up for the winter holidays. The venue announced that its popular ICE! attraction will be themed after The Polar Express this year. Guests will have the chance to relive the film in an interactive frozen experience from November 14 to January 4.

ICE! will take guests on a journey through nine key scenes from the film using giant ice sculptures — some up to 20-feet tall — depicting scenes from the story. Artists use colorful ice, clear ice, and LED lights to create a vibrant exhibit. The attraction is kept at 9 degrees Fahrenheit by a state-of-the-art chilling system, and guests are provided a Gaylord National signature blue parka to keep warm.

In addition to the Polar Express attraction, the resort will offer family-friendly events and activities including a walkthrough Christmas village, photos with Santa, the snow flow mountain’s indoor tubing, and a live show of Cirque: Spirit of Christmas. The Gaylord will also host a mistletoe mile scavenger hunt and offer boozy hot chocolate and whiskey-based cocktails at its newly opened Whiskey Revolution tasting room.

Tickets are now on sale starting at $41.
