Create Your Own Bouquet at These Floral Workshops in NoVA

These fun classes let you craft your perfect floral arrangement.

By Maggie Roth February 3, 2025 at 3:55 pm

Go one step further than buying your own flowers this Valentine’s Day — you can make your own flowers, too. Or your own bouquet, that is. With these five floral arranging classes around Northern Virginia, you can create a stunning arrangement to take home for a loved one, friends, or just to enjoy for yourself.

Valentine Flower Potluck & Workshop at MoCA Arlington

February 8, 1–2:30 p.m.

A new kind of potluck is happening in Arlington. All participants will bring flowers, either store-bought or hand-picked, and a vessel to create their arrangement in. Then, select the blooms for your arrangement from the collective potluck and start creating your own bouquet. Museum of Contemporary Art Arlington: 3550 Wilson Blvd., Arlington, $45

Bend and Bloom with Petals and Poses at Move

February 12, 12:30 p.m.

Enjoy an afternoon of flower arranging and yoga at this workshop from Move in Leesburg. The event will begin with a “gentle, heart-centered” yoga session fit for all levels. Then, a guided session will help you create your own bouquet. Finish it off with hot chocolate or tea and sweet treats. 11B S. King St., Leesburg, $60

Floral Arranging Workshop and Wine Tasting at National Landing

February 15, 1–3 p.m.

Pentagon City Wine will host a wine tasting and floral arranging workshop, led by instructor Nina Alice Blooms. Sip a selection of wines while you create your own “modern and whimsical” vase arrangement. Plus, participants get 10 percent off of bottles of wine purchased at the event. 1330 S. Fern St., Arlington, $80

Sip and Blooms: A Valentine’s Day Floral Arranging Workshop

February 15, 3 p.m.

Join this Ashburn café for a two-hour floral arranging class, led by area floral designer blooms2u. Food and beverages from the coffee bar are available for purchase so you can enjoy a coffee or tea while you work. Blend Coffee Bar: 43170 Southern Walk Plz., Ste. 120, Ashburn, $55

Flower Arranging Class: Ikebana & Pastry

March 8, 4–5 p.m.

Learn the art of Ikebana, a Japanese floral arranging technique, while sampling pastries in this hour-long session. There will be an introduction, an instructor demonstration, then time to make your own arrangement. Once you’re done, unwind and show off your creation to fellow participants. La Madeleine French Bakery & Café: 1833 Fountain Dr., Reston, $67
