9 Harry Potter Events You Won’t Want to Miss 

It’s time to dust off your wands and broomsticks and head to Harry Potter–themed events across the region this fall.

Whether you’re looking to test your wizarding knowledge at a trivia night, immerse yourself in a magical forest experience, or party at a family-friendly brew bash, there’s something for every Potterhead. Here’s a look at nine Harry Potter events in and around NoVA. 

Harry Potter–Themed Trivia Night 

October 24, 7–9 p.m. 

This event features five rounds of wizarding world trivia. Warm up in the cozy atmosphere with firepits and Halloween decorations at the taproom. Prizes will be awarded for trivia winners. Costumes are encouraged — wear a Harry Potter or Halloween outfit to receive $1 off drinks. Eavesdrop Brewery: 7223 Centreville Rd., Ste. 115, Manassas, free admission 

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child

October 25 & 26, times vary

You don’t have to travel to Broadway to get a glimpse of this Tony Award-winning show. Leesburg’s Riverside High School is the first in Virginia to bring the production to the high school stage. The play follows the story of Harry Potter’s son, taking viewers back to Hogwarts 19 years after the original books ended. Riverside High School: 19019 Upper Belmont Pl., Leesburg

Harry Potter Halloween Brew Bash 

October 26, 11 a.m. 

Join the ultimate Harry Potter party, featuring themed music, Butterbeer Amber Ales, and non-alcoholic Butterbeer for kids. Highlights include a family costume contest, trivia, bingo, and a movie marathon of the series. Mustang Sally Brewing Company: 14140 Parke Long Ct., Stes. A-C, Chantilly, free admission 

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix in Concert 

October 26, 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. 

Experience Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix with a live performance. Watch Harry and his friends’ mission to save Sirius Black on the big screen, accompanied by the Richmond Symphony. Altria Theater: 6 N. Laurel St., Richmond, starting at $65.50 

Harry Potter: A Forbidden Forest Experience 

October 26–December 8 

The Harry Potter: A Forbidden Forest Experience returns with enhanced features and more magical moments. Visitors will explore a beautifully illuminated forest, encountering beloved creatures like Hippogriffs and Nifflers, cast spells with wands, and indulge in themed food and drink. A deluxe experience offers exclusive items like a souvenir letter and tote bag. The experience lasts about 60 to 90 minutes and is suitable for all ages. Wear outdoor shoes. Harry Potter Experience Package 

October 26–December 8 

For those going to The Harry Potter: A Forbidden Forest Experience, Lansdowne Resort has a package running at the same time. This magical package includes overnight accommodations, a $50 daily breakfast credit, a Pick Your House Truffle Box, and a personalized wax-sealed welcome letter. The Wizard’s Pour 

October 31, 4–11:30 p.m. 

Savor legendary Butterbeer, sip on magical cocktails, and put your wizarding knowledge to the test with themed trivia and magical bingo. Compete for exciting prizes while surrounding yourself in a mystical atmosphere. Tap99: 1250 Half St. SE, Washington, DC, free admission 

Harry Potter Afternoon Tea 

November 2–December 7 

Pinkies up to a Harry Potter tea party experience. Each table can choose two flavors from a selection of over 20 specialty teas. Revel in a three-tiered tower featuring nine mixed savory and sweet treats. Mocatinas: 3 E. Market St., Leesburg, $50, with a $10 deposit to hold a seat 

Harry Potter Books Trivia 

November 5, 7 p.m. 

Test your wizarding knowledge and participate in five rounds of questioning based on the book series. If you are playing as a team, register everybody under one name.  Rebellion Bourbon Bar & Kitchen: 1 N. King St., Leesburg, free admission
