The Savannah Bananas are hitting the road once again. The 2025 Banana Ball World Tour makes a pit stop at Nationals Park for two games this summer.
On June 27 and 28, instead of the Washington Nationals taking the field, you’ll find Bananas and the Firefighters playing a game of Banana Ball. Last summer, the Bananas took on the Firefighters in front of a sold-out Nats Park. At that game, the Bananas brought out former Nationals pitcher Gio Gonzalez to pitch a perfect inning.
Don’t expect to see your average baseball game when you show up to a Bananas game. Instead of runs, each team earns a point if it scores the most runs in an inning — except in the last inning where every run counts — fans can record outs on foul balls, and bunting will get players ejected.
In addition to the crazy rules, the crowd will be entertained with trick plays, dance breaks, and surprises during the two-hour game.
The ticket lottery is currently open until November 1. Those chosen to purchase tickets will be notified two months before the selected game. Standard tickets are $35 and children 3 and under can enter for free. Group accommodations are available.
VIB Experience (Very Important Banana) tickets will be up for grabs. The experience includes early entry into the ballpark, a behind-the-scenes look at rehearsals, and a meet-and-greet with your favorite players. VIB tickets start at $100 and are first-come, first-served.
If you can’t make the DC dates, the team will play in Philadelphia on July 26 and 27 and at Baltimore’s Camden Yards on August 1 and 2. Fans are only able to sign up for tickets to one city.
