Budweiser Clydesdales to Visit Frying Pan Farm Park

Take a trip to Herndon to meet the iconic Clydesdales in person.

By Michele Kettner September 13, 2024 at 8:29 am

No matter your age, you are likely to recognize the Budweiser Clydesdales when you see them. Next week, those iconic Clydesdales make a stop in Herndon.

On Tuesday, September 17, Frying Pan Farm Park hosts a meet-and-greet with the Clydesdales from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Spend the afternoon snapping photos and getting an up-close look at the animals.

Decades before starring in commercials, the Clydesdales were introduced to the public in 1933 when August A. Busch, Jr. and Adolphus Busch III gifted their father a six-horse Clydesdale hitch to commemorate the end of the prohibition of beer. The mascots eventually added the recognizable Dalmatian to their group after opening the Anheuser-Busch Company in 1950. Today, the horses travel around the country to make appearances.

While you’re at the park, there are plenty of other activities to try. The park works as an operating farm. Guests can explore the grounds of Kidwell Farm and meet the animals that roam the pasture and barns. The Herndon park also includes a playground, an operating 1920s Herschell carousel, and wagon rides.
