District Exotic Jetcars Brings Luxury Sports Car–Style Boats to Woodbridge

Why ride in a regular boat when you could hit the water in a pink convertible?

By Maggie Roth May 6, 2024 at 1:04 pm

There’s a new way to travel the Potomac in style this summer. District Exotic Jetcars, which held a grand opening on Sunday, now offers rentals of its watercrafts from Woodbridge. These aren’t just any boats — the sleek jetcars are designed to look and feel just like luxury sports cars.

Each of the six racecar-shaped jet boats is each named after a different Greek goddess. Choose the bubblegum-pink Hera to live out your Barbie dreams, or opt instead for the sleek, red Aphrodite — there are plenty of options to fit anyone’s style.

Boats launch from Hampton’s Landing Marina in Woodbridge, where riders can set off on an exhilarating ride across the water. Rentals start at $350 per hour.

Four of the six boats can hold two passengers each and two can hold four passengers. They’re controlled by gas pedals and a steering wheel in the driver’s position, just like a car.

In order to drive the boat yourself, you must be at least 25 years old and have a boating safety license. Otherwise, there is an option to have a captain accompany you to drive the vessel for an additional fee.

And if you want to make sure every moment of this exciting excursion is captured on camera, District Exotic Jetcars offers the option to capture drone footage of the ride, also for an extra fee.

Children must be at least 5 years old to ride and must wear life vests throughout the ride. Life vests are available for free for all riders. The boats are Coast Guard–approved, according to the company website.

If a rental isn’t enough, the company is also a licensed dealer of the watercrafts. There are over 100 models available for purchase, starting at about $70,000. Customers are also able to customize their own “bespoke waterborne dream car.”
