Burnside Farms’ Festival of Spring Starts this Weekend

Celebrate by surrounding yourself with tulips and daffodils.

By Michele Kettner March 21, 2024 at 11:02 am

Spring has officially sprung throughout Northern Virginia. The beautiful and colorful flowers popping out of the ground are the best part, aside from the blooming cherry blossoms. Budding flowers are also a sign that Burnside Farms’ Festival of Spring is around the corner.

The Nokesville farm announced its 2024 festival is slated to open from 4 p.m. to dusk on Sunday, March 24, and will run through April 14. Advanced tickets go on sale at noon Thursday.

During the Festival of Spring, the farm’s fields are covered in a blanket of colorful flowers — drawing comparisons to the stunning flower fields in Holland. The pick-your-own festival will feature more than 150 varieties of tulips and over 30 varieties of daffodils. With the spring season only lasting around three weeks, flower lovers can expect full bloom to hit around the first two weeks of April.

In addition to the flower fields, there will be plenty of activities. Guests will be able to enjoy jump pads, wagon rides, cornhole, playhouses, bubble stations, grain bin basketball, and other games for adults and kids. The farm also has a courtyard with picnic tables and chairs where you can set up for a snack or lunch.

Advance tickets to the festival are $19 for weekday admission, $21 for weekend admission, $23–$25 for early bird (from 7 to 9 a.m. Thursday to Sunday) and sunset admission (4 to 8 p.m. or dusk).

A limited number of day-of tickets will be available if the festival isn’t already sold out that day. Those tickets, which go on sale at 5 a.m. each day, are $25 for weekdays, $27 for weekend, $29–$31 for early bird and sunset admission. Tickets are not required for children 5 and under.

Each advance and day-of ticket includes five flowers. Festival goers can pick and purchase more flowers for an additional fee. Additional tulips are $1 per stem and daffodils are $1 per two stems. If you pull out your flower and a bulb is attached, it’s an extra $1 if you’d like to keep it.

Additional dates may be added depending on the weather. If the season extends past April 14, Burnside Farms will release additional tickets for the Festival of Spring at noon on April 11. 11008 Kettle Run Rd., Nokesville
