5 Pick-Your-Own Peach Farms in Northern Virginia

It’s peach season in NoVA. Venture to these family farms to bring home your harvest.

By Ashley Davidson July 29, 2024 at 11:36 am

Northern Virginia’s peaches are ripe for picking for a few more weeks. Across the region, there are farms and orchards where you can pick your own and join celebrations dedicated to the fuzzy fruit.

Great Country Farms

In addition to offering pick-your-own peaches, this 400-acre farm committed to regenerative agriculture hosts a multi-weekend Peach Fuzztival. The fun includes peach-eating and peach pit–spitting contests, peach ice cream, Bluemont Vineyard’s summer peach wine and wine slushies, and Dirt Farm Brewing’s Som’ Peach Golden Ale, along with live music. 34345 Snickersville Tpk., Bluemont

Mackintosh Fruit Farm

Nestled in the Northern Shenandoah Valley, Mackintosh Fruit Farm is family-owned by Clarke County natives and offers plenty of options for fruit picking, including peaches. You can find out what’s the latest and greatest and ready to pick by subscribing to its PYO (yep, “pick your own”) update list, sent weekly via email. 1608 Russell Rd., Berryville

Stribling Orchard

The Stribling family has been growing fruit for over 200 years and currently has 800 peach trees. The farm also has more than 20 varieties of apples and sells beef from its grass-fed cattle raised on its pastures in northern Fauquier County. You will want to check the orchard’s Facebook page to find out the specifics of when it’s open. 11587 Poverty Hollow Ln., Markham

Marker-Miller Orchards Farm Market

Marker-Miller Orchards is nearly a century old and has been growing peaches for over 70 years. On August 10, the orchard holds its peach festival with all sorts of peachy goodies in the form of cobblers, turnovers, pies, and ice cream. Enjoy live music, food and craft vendors, and scenic wagon rides. 3035 Cedar Creek Grade, Winchester

Hartland Orchard

This family-owned, working farm is located in the hills by the Blue Ridge Mountains near Skyline Drive. Hartland hosts peach picking through August and offers housemade cider and honey, all at reasonable prices. Note: The farm is a cash-only operation. 3064 Hartland Ln., Markham
