Close Encounters
If you have dinosaur lovers in your house, check out The Jurassic Encounter at Bull Run Events Center. The walk-thru exhibit features more than 50 animatronic and static dinosaurs. It opens Fri., May 20, 2 p.m.-7 p.m., and runs through May 30. After opening day, it’s open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Kids can dig for dinosaur bones, and you’ll also find food trucks, games and bouncy houses. —Amy Ayres, editor

The Midnight Special
While some readers were disturbed by the idea of a bar that serves a cereal-milk-and-vodka shot, most of them were still pretty hyped overall about new venue and diner B Live, opening in the old Whitlow’s space in Arlington. Performances are already on the schedule for this week.—James Finley, senior editor

Morning Munchies
Most mornings you can find me rushing around the kitchen trying to put together a quick bagel before running out the door for work. But after reading our list of NoVA’s best bagel shops, I’m setting my alarm a little earlier in order to pick up a fresh bite and schmear. —Michele Kettner, associate digital & research editor
