High-speed racing experiences are just a short drive away thanks to these local tracks.

No matter how old you get, go-karting will always bring a smile to kids’ faces. From sharp turns to the feeling of the wind blowing in their hair, these indoor and outdoor tracks across the region will make them feel like they’re in a scene of Fast and Furious.

Autobahn Indoor Speedway & Events

Those that have a need for speed need to book a slot at this indoor track. With a philosophy of no speed limit, racers driving the high-speed karts will reach speeds up to 50 mph as they whip around the track. Kiddos eight and older can also get in on the fun–developing their driving skills at lower speeds. Not up for the high speeds? The speedway also has axe throwing stalls for a different kind of adrenaline-pumping fun. 8300 Sudley Rd., Ste. A-5, Manassas; 45448 E. Severn Way, Ste. 150, Sterling

Fun Land

Racers of all ages will want to spend the day at Fun Land. Before you head out the door, choose whether you want to complete your laps on the all-electric indoor go-kart track in Centreville or the multi-level outdoor track in Fredericksburg. Once you get in your thrills, head inside for laser tag, arcade games, and zip lining. 5111 Westfields Blvd., Centreville; 1351 Central Park Blvd., Fredericksburg

Adventure Park USA

Family fun awaits at this local amusement park. While the property hosts a variety of attractions, including roller coasters, mini-golf, and arcade, you’ll want to get in line for the blazing trails go-karts. If your little one doesn’t reach the height requirement to drive, hop in one of the double karts to give them a taste of the high-speed thrills. 11113 W. Baldwin Rd., Monrovia, Maryland

Go Kart Track

Open since the 1960s, this Maryland track has been providing the community with unforgettable racing experiences. As long as the temperatures are above 50 degrees, drivers are lined up on the track and ready to put the pedal to the metal. 4300 Kenilworth Ave., Bladensburg, Maryland

Crofton Go-Kart Raceway

With over 20 hair-raising turns, this tricky outdoor track is the largest in the state. The half-mile Grand Prix-style course is challenging for even the most experienced drivers. With 44 single and double go-karts up for grabs, those taking the car for a spin have to be at least 8 years old and 54 inches tall. 1050 Crain Hwy., Gambrills, Maryland
