Inside Out
While everyone else is starting to think about things they can do outside the house, I’m beginning to renovate mine. One major project: the deck. I’m seriously thinking about enclosing it like this one. OK, maybe not as impressive as that luxe Arlington home, but you get the picture. I’m planning to do lots of research on exactly how I can execute a screened patio of my own so I can bring my rare nights in outside-ish. –Alice Levitt, food editor/critic
Pup Pandemonium
Ask anyone I know and they will probably mention my love of dogs. I currently have two labs, Arlo and Reese, but I would definitely get more if I had the space. That being said, dogs of all sizes have a special place in my heart. This weekend, I’m going to give back and help raise money for the local rescue animals at Lucky Dog Animal Rescue’s Mix & Match Madness event. I can’t wait to chow down on some delicious drinks and snacks from the comfort of my home with my own pups while helping those furry friends in need. // Saturday, 6-9 p.m.; $30-$65 –Michele Kettner, associate digital & research editor
One Sweet Sip
I can already taste the Real Dark Chocolate at Chateau de Chantilly–though I’ve been in town for just a week, this place is an instant obsession. The cup of drinking chocolate is topped with the bakery’s ultra-thick whipped cream and, if you ask nicely, marshmallows. It’s the perfect way to jump-start the week. // 13974 Metrotech Dr., Chantilly –Kelly Kendall, editor
