7 events seniors will love to attend this month

Spend the final days of February attending yoga classes, making art and playing bingo.

With the last few weeks of winter making its presence known across the region, it is the perfect time to stay indoors. Whether you want to attend a drive-in bingo game or take a yoga class designed for gardeners, these seven events will keep you entertained during these chilly days.

Wake and Make

Feb. 22, 7-8 a.m.
Start your morning off by waking up your creative side. From painting to drawing, participants will complete an art activity to shake up those creative juices. Most of the supplies needed can be found around the house. // 55Plus membership required

Yoga for Gardeners I

Feb. 22, 9:30-10:30 a.m.
Get your body ready for the upcoming spring gardening season with a yoga class designed for gardeners. Participants will work on strength, flexibility and endurance to help increase their stamina while outdoors. All yoga sessions will be held indoors. // Green Spring Gardens Park: 4603 Green Spring Road, Alexandria; $129 for 11 sessions

Insects and Critters: Garden Friends and Foes

Feb. 24, 11 a.m.-noon
Get ready for garden season with a refresher lesson in critters. A master gardener will discuss the different insects and critters you may come across in your garden and show if they are a friend or foe to your plants. // free

Drive-In Bingo

Feb. 23, 10:30 a.m.
Spend your morning playing bingo. Drive over to the Dorothy Hart Community Center for a fun game while staying distant and safe in your car. Pre-registration is required. // Dorothy Hart Community Center: 408 Canal St., Fredericksburg; free

Virtual Carefull Knitting

Feb. 25, 4-5 p.m.
Gather virtually with others in the community for a night of knitting. The knitting and crochet social group allows participants to work on their projects while having conversation. Registration is required. // free

Saturday Night Supper Club

Feb. 27, 5-6:30 p.m.
Spice up your Saturday night with some social interactions. As you prepare dinner or order from your favorite restaurant, chat with others and make new acquaintances in a lower-pressure environment. // 55Plus membership required

Beaded Mask Lanyard Workshop

Feb. 27, 2-4 p.m.
Never lose your mask again with this handy lanyard. Participants will be able to add their own style and design to the lanyard as they learn about beading basics. Guests can also bring beads from their own collection. // The Clay and Metal Loft: 27 Fairfax St., Leesburg; $55
