5 Places to Zip Line for Amazing Fall Foliage Views

If you are looking for thrills, take to the skies on one of these zip line courses.

With the leaves turning to beautiful shades of red and orange, there’s no time like the present to get outside and enjoy fall. Instead of just hiking around your neighborhood or local park, take to the trees for a zip-lining adventure. These five zip-line courses will add some adventure as you take in those fall foliage views.

Bear Mountain Ziplines

Get an amazing view of the Shenandoah Valley up in the air at Bear Mountain Ziplines. The Mama Bear Zipline course includes seven zip lines that race riders to up to 35 mph. The adventure center also features a ropes course and climbing wall. 2354 Lee Hwy., Luray; $75

Empower Adventures

Make your way to Salamander Resort & Spa for the ultimate ziplining adventure. Whether you are looking for a fun family outing or a team-building adventure these courses are for you. The Middleburg-based zip line offers a variety of packages and tours, including the treetop zip tour, kiddo zip, and the moonlight zip tour. 500 N. Pendleton St., Middleburg; starting at $75 per person

Go Ape

Take to the trees like a monkey at Go Ape. Choose from three different treetop thrills full of zip lines, suspended bridges, and obstacles, including the center’s 320 foot-long zip line.  7550 Reservation Dr., Springfield; starting at $14.95 per person

Harpers Ferry Adventure Center

Head over to Harpers Ferry for an adventure in the sky. The canopy tour features seven zip lines and a 100-foot Sky Bridge. The adventure center also offers a ropes course, tubing, rafting, and kayaking. 37410 Adventure Center Ln., Purcellville; starting at $54 per person

Massanutten Family Adventure Park

Plan your next family adventure at Massanutten’s Adventure Park. Thrill seekers can get their blood pumping at the park’s Mega Zip course, which allows riders to race down an 800-foot plunge that can reach speeds of up to 30 mph. The park also offers a canopy tour, which takes riders along a 2-hour journey on six zip lines through the forest. 1822 Resort Dr., Massanutten; $17 per trip
