Looking for more ways to support local businesses during the coronavirus pandemic? Enter the town of Vienna’s new business appreciation campaign, featuring weeklong activities for residents to participate in.

The initiative, titled ViennaUnited, is being hosted to recognize the town’s 1,800 independent and small businesses during May Virginia Business Appreciation Month, and will take place from Monday, May 18 to Friday, May 22.

The community can get involved in three ways: Vienna Bingo, the Business Drive-By Community Challenge and through the town’s virtual businesses awards.

Vienna Bingo provides a safe way for residents to support Vienna businesses while social distancing and includes things like buying a gift card from a local town business, visiting one of the town’s parks, writing a thank you note to a small business and more. See the bingo card here.

There’s also the drive-by challenge, which encourages residents to make signs and drive by their favorite Vienna business, flashing their signs and honking their horns to show their support. Participants are encouraged to tag the business on social media and use the hashtag #ViennaUnited as well.

Lastly, the virtual business awards will feature the People’s Choice style awards, and residents are able to nominate businesses in categories like Entrepreneur of the Year, Excellence in Customer Service and more. You can vote here.
