1Virginia Gold Cup
Come see a riveting steeplechase race at the 90th Virginia Gold Cup at Great Meadow. This event isn’t just about horse racing, however; men and women will come decked out in their best springtime fashion, and judges will decide which attendees have the best hats in the hat contest. There will also be a tailgating contest and Jack Russell terrier races. / May 2

Good wine, food and live music make for a great recipe to enjoy the warmer weather and beginning of summer. Celebrate Memorial Day at Bogati Bodega and Vineyard by sipping some sangria and savoring light fare by the pond with friends and family. / May 23

 

Virginia Wine Country Half Marathon

3Virginia Wine Country Half Marathon
Kick off the summer on a warm May morning with a half marathon or support the runners at this Destination Races event. Local Virginia wineries will be present to serve the runners wine, and after the race, attendees can enjoy live music and a wine festival on the Doukenie Winery grounds. / May 30

4Spring Wine Festival and Sunset Tour
Through a combination of mansion and cellar tours, appearances by Martha and George Washington and wine samplings from 16 different Virginia wineries, Mount Vernon is celebrating Virginia’s rich wine history. Jazz music playing over the east lawn will offer a cozy retreat to sample wines and watch the sun set over the Potomac River. / May 15-17

A boisterous evening with three lively comedians at Wolf Trap is sure to offer the audience more than a few good laughs. Greg Morton, Ritch Shydner and Kevin Lee will endlessly entertain with their unique brands of comedy. / May 1-2
