Truly experience the 18th Century and step back into time this weekend at the Spring Colonial Market Fair. Beginning at 11 a.m., the fair will take place at Claude Moore Colonial Farms in McLean.

Indulge in the colonial era and observe as you enter a Virginia colonial village, circa 1771. Take a trip around an 18th Century market fair visiting first the blacksmith, cabinetmaker, spinners and pewter smiths. Indulge in the unique handmade creation and fashions of the 18th Century. Get involved and learn how to create candles by dipping, spin wood, play colonial era games and sing and dance to period music.

Along with a visit to heritage animals like the chicken and the pig, there will also be a variety of fresh foods for purchase. Get your taste buds tingling as you move through your choice of spit roasted rosemary chicken, spring vegetables, roasted olives, fruit pies and more. Wash it all down with the tavern’s chilled beverages like craft beers, mulled wine and fresh ginger ale. Soaps, crafts, herbs and flowers will also be available for purchase. Transport back into time and experience firs hand the Colonial Market Fair.
