Ever want to date a firefighter? You could get your chance this weekend, but don’t expect too much heat.

Come out to the 2nd Annual Fireball Auction at Vienna’s Volunteer Fire Department, tonight at 7 p.m., where 12 male and female Firefighters and EMT’s will be auctioned off for a group date. Ever wondered what it would be like to be one of the brave men and women who protect us? Well here’s your chance.

They’ll wine and dine you and at the end of the night they’ll lean over and give you a long passionate speech about what it’s like to be in their shoes. It’s not the four-alarm fire of passion that you may have been expecting, but don’t lose hope just yet. The day begins with a VIP tour of their firehouse. Discover where these service men and women spend most of their days preparing and responding to calls. End the night with dinner and drinks at Westwood Country Club where you can sit down and really get to know how these men and women do what they do.

All proceeds will go to helping the fire station fund renovations, pay mortgages, buy emergency vehicles and many other things that will help them to continue to provide aid and assistance to the Vienna community.

The bidding will begin at $40 and the group date will take place the Saturday.

Not into the date? No problem. The fundraiser will also have a silent auction where they will be auctioning off between 40 and 50 items for you to bid on like dance lessons from Elegant Dancing, a wine class for eight at Oakton Wine Shop, a week long RCI time share and many more. Don’t forget about the raffle tickets sold at the fundraiser for chances to win gift certificates to many local favorites. This family-friendly event is free.

Either way, you can tell people you went out with a firefighter.
