23 Businesses Offering Military Discounts in Northern Virginia This May

From free meals to shopping perks, these restaurants, retailers, and attractions honor service members during Military Appreciation Month.

May is Military Appreciation Month, a time dedicated to recognizing the service and sacrifices of active-duty military members, veterans, and their families. In Northern Virginia, that appreciation includes discounts, free admission offers, special events, and year-round perks from restaurants, breweries, retailers, and local attractions.

Here’s where you can find some of those offers.

Dining

Mission BBQ

Veterans and active-duty military members can receive a free sandwich during the week of May 11, with dates varying by military branch.

Outback Steakhouse

Yearround, military personnel, veterans, and their immediate families can enjoy a 10% discount on their entire check (excluding alcohol) at this chain.

Applebee’s

Applebee’s offers a 10% discount yearround as a way to thank those who serve.

Buffalo Wild Wings

Buffalo Wild Wings gives a 10% discount to show gratitude for military service.

Cinnabon

Cinnabon offers a sweet 15% discount on its cinnamon rolls and other treats.

Cracker Barrel

Cracker Barrel offers a yearround 10% in-store discount on both dining and retail items for rewards members.

Shopping & Retail Destinations

Leesburg Premium Outlets

Shoppers can find savings across top brands, including 15% off at Le Creuset, 10% off at Nike, and 15% off at Vineyard Vines during Military Appreciation Month. 241 Fort Evans Rd NE, Leesburg

Potomac Mills

Virginia’s largest outlet mall is highlighting year-round military discounts at more than 90 retailers this May. Participating stores include Coach Outlet, Nike Clearance Store, Pandora, and Crocs, along with dining and entertainment spots such as Firehouse Subs and Round1 Bowling & Arcade. From May 4 to 8, active-duty military members and veterans can also receive a free $25 gift card redeemable at Vineyard Vines, Greg Norman, Under Armour, or The North Face by presenting a valid military ID at the mall management office while supplies last. 2700 Potomac Mills Cir, Woodbridge

Fashion Centre at Pentagon City

Several retailers are offering Military Appreciation Month savings, including 10% off at Apple, 15% off at lululemon, and 25% off at UNTUCKit. 1100 S Hayes St, Arlington

Walgreens

Walgreens is offering a 20% discount for veterans, active-duty service members and their families this Memorial Day weekend, from Saturday, May 23 through May 25 at all Walgreens nationwide for myWalgreens members with valid military ID or proof of service. Enrollment in myWalgreens is free at checkout, and the offer is valid in-store only.

Adidas

Adidas offers a 30% online and in-store discount and 15% at factory outlets. The deal is for all verified medical professionals, first responders, nurses, military members, and teachers.

Apple

A 10% discount is available to current and veteran members of the U.S. military, National Guard, and Reserve. Immediate family members who reside in the same household are also eligible.

Mattress Firm

Mattress Firm offers savings from 10% to 20% if you’re active duty, reserve, veteran, retired military, a spouse, or a registered dependent.

New Balance

New Balance is offering 15% off for active military and veterans. This promotional discount is also available if you’re a teacher, hospital or medical employee, nurse, first responder, government employee, or a senior (60+).

Sleep Number

Sleep Number beds is offering military personnel and veterans an extra 5% discount on already reduced smart beds and bedding accessories until June 14.

AT&T

Military members, veterans, and their families can receive up to $1,100 per line when switching to AT&T, along with 25% off unlimited wireless plans through the company’s military appreciation offers.

Verizon

Military and veteran families can receive a $200 Verizon gift card and promotional phone offers during Military Appreciation Month.

7-Eleven

Through May 31, verified 7Rewards and ID.me members can receive 10 cents off per gallon of gas in addition to the everyday 5-cent app discount, totaling at least 15 cents off per gallon at participating locations nationwide.

Navy Federal Credit Union

Navy Federal is offering a $200 bonus for members who refinance an auto loan from another lender. Active-duty and retired military members can also receive a 0.25% APR discount on auto refinance loans.

Nike

Nike offers a 10% military discount for active-duty service members, reservists, veterans, retirees, and eligible family members with proof of service.

Lowe’s

Lowe’s continues its everyday 10% military discount for active-duty military members, veterans, and spouses, along with additional Memorial Day savings on appliances, grills, and patio furniture through May 25.

Home Depot

Home Depot is running Memorial Day promotions from May 14 to 25, featuring discounts on appliances, outdoor furniture, and home improvement essentials.

Rack Room Shoes

Military shoppers with valid ID can receive 20% off their entire in-store purchase on Memorial Day.
