Central Farm Market is opening a new farmers market in Gainesville at the Virginia Gateway shopping center. It opens on May 2 and will run Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. until November 21, rain or shine.
This will be Central Farm Markets’ first location in Virginia. It operates two markets in the Bethesda area as well as one in and Navy Yard.
The first 500 customers at the grand opening will receive a free reusable insulated shopping bag.
The market will offer a variety of fresh and local meats, seafood, dairy products, produce, baked goods, prepared foods, and flowers. It will feature more than 20 vendors, including Agripina and Bloom flowers, F.J. Medina & Son Farm, and The Farmstead Butcher.
Live music, activities for kids, chef demonstrations, and special events will also be available.
The market will be located in the parking lot next to the Virginia Gateway building at 7500 Iron Bar Ln., with free parking available nearby.
