With spring underway, many of the region’s seasonal farmers markets have already returned. But this year, Loudoun County will be one market short. The Middleburg Farmers Market announces it won’t be operating during the 2026 season.
The farmers market, which started in 1994, is typically held at Middleburg Town Hall. It was scheduled to kick off its 2026 season on Saturday, May 2.
“We know that many enjoyed the market over the past years, and we are especially grateful to our vendors who dedicated time each Saturday and to our Market Manager, Kim Shelly, who was faithfully present each week,” the Town of Middleburg posted on Facebook. “In reviewing all options, and considering the limited foot traffic at the market, the ongoing cost and time to manage the market became prohibitive.”
However, the town is encouraging shoppers to support the local vendors that frequented the Middleburg Farmers Market. And to visit one of the nearby options, including Buchanan Hall Market in Upperville, Archwood Green Barns Farmers Market in The Plains, and Gilberts Corner Farmers Market in Aldie.
