Another fashion staple from the early aughts is closing its doors. Francesca’s is set to liquidate its inventory and close all of its locations after 27 years in business.
This includes Northern Virginia’s six Francesca’s storefronts, with locations in Arlington, Fair Oaks, Gainesville, Fredericksburg, Leesburg, and Tysons Corner Center. A location in Reston closed in 2025. There’s no set date yet for when the physical locations will be closing for good.
The women’s boutique opened its first location in Houston, Texas in 1999. Since then, the store had expanded to more than 450 locations in 45 states. During that time, Francesca’s became known for its apparel, jewelry, accessories, and gifts.
Shoppers that visit the store’s website will notice a warehouse sale. It offers 30 percent off the entire site and clearance items listed at $15 or less. Additional in-store discounts are also available.
Francesca’s filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in 2020, closing hundreds of stores. In 2021, the company was sold to an affiliate of TerraMar Capital and Tiger Capital for $18 million.
