Lou Lou Boutiques Closes Storefronts in Fairfax and DC

The NoVA-based accessory shop opened its first location in 2004.

It’s always sad to say goodbye to a beloved local shop. This week, Lou Lou Boutiques announced the closing of two locations in Fairfax and Washington, DC.

The brick-and-mortar accessories shop first opened in Middleburg in 2004 and has become a go-to for jewelry, bags, wallets, belts, sunglasses, and more. Its Fairfax location was one of the first shops to open in the Mosaic District when the outdoor shopping center first opened in 2012.

“It has been an honor to serve thousands of customers over all the years,” said owners Tara and Ben Wegdam in an Instagram post. “We will cherish all the wonderful memories and interactions with our customers and look forward to continue to serve you in all of our other Lou Lou Boutiques.”

The family-owned business still has NoVA locations in Alexandria and Middleburg. There are also eight additional stores spread throughout Maryland, other parts of Virginia, Connecticut, North Carolina, and South Carolina.

At the start of 2024, the boutique announced the closing of its store in Reston Town Center after 15 years in service.
