The Northern Virginia holiday market season is about to be in full swing, catering to all the shoppers who are ready to launch right into the holidays right after Halloween. In November, there are holiday markets to explore, each with a different lineup of vendors and artisans.
Here are several November holiday markets to have on your can’t-miss list this season.
Northern Virginia Christmas Market
November 8–10, times vary
This annual award-winning holiday market at the Dulles Expo Center brings together more than 225 artisans from over 30 states. Jewelry, fine arts, photography, and vintage items that have been recreated are featured, as well as gourmet foods you can add to gift baskets. The Christmas Market benefits the Capital Area Food Bank. Icelandic Christmas Bazaar
November 9, 10 a.m.–3 p.m.
Is there anything more perfect for the holiday season than an Icelandic Christmas Bazaar? This event at the American Legion in Fairfax will have both gifts (think wool and jewelry) and food, as well as the festive atmosphere of this Nordic country, including its famous Icelandic hot dogs, open-faced sandwiches, and crêpes. 3939 Oak St., Fairfax, free
The Dominion Guild Merry Market
November 12–13, times vary
Stop by the Merry Market on Tuesday evening for its $55 Bubbly and Bites event that includes next day market admission or check out the all-day shopping market on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. This event, hosted at the Knights of Columbus and benefitting the Dominion Guild, welcomes 21 vendors from across the region, including Georgetown Garden Shop, Let’s Talk Towels, and Lucy Grymes. 5115 Little Falls Rd., Arlington, $15 for market shopping
Catoctin Holiday Art Tour
November 16–17, 10 a.m.–5 p.m.
The Catoctin Holiday Art Tour will bring together 24 artists across 10 studios for a show that’s just in time for all of your holiday gifting. Fiber, glass, jewelry, and wood, as well as painting and photography, are among the mediums represented. The entire tour spans studios across 5 miles (see map), which means you have the perfect excuse for an afternoon spent exploring Loudoun County. Around Lovettsville, free
