By Colleen Kelleher August 8, 2024 at 12:40 pm

Alexandria’s 15th annual summer sidewalk sale kicks off on Saturday, rain or shine, with more than 60 boutiques planning to participate.

Clothing, home décor, fair trade, and art items will be for sale. The Old Town and Del Ray retailers will offer deeply discounted summer merchandise, according to Visit Alexandria. The discounts and store hours will vary, but many shops open at 10 a.m.

Participating for the first time will be Galactic Panther Art Gallery, Look Again Resale Shop, Indus Imports, Madame Coco Emporium & Everything Chocolate, Pippin Toy Co., The Genius Genus, The BEST Gift Shop and Zen Press Juice.

Among the deals, Vintage Mirage on Columbus Street “is offering up to 90% off of selected summer clothing and accessories.”

Bloomers on King Street will offer up to 65 percent off on sale items, including pajamas and bras.

American in Paris will have swimsuits, cover-ups, shorts, hats, and sunglasses will be on clearance up to 50 percent off.

Select designer purses, clothing, and jewelry will be 30 to 50 percent off at Encore Consignment Boutique.

Old Town Books will have what it describes as “imperfect” books for sale for $5 and deeply discounted seasonal items such as Christmas cards.

See all of the participating shops on the Visit Alexandria site and a map of their locations.

The Old Town Pop-Up Art Market at 101 N. Union St. is set for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There, you’ll find items from Fiscus Glassworks, Bashford & Pitt, CalmConnectWell, Alexandra Schmeling Fine Art, Papazian Design, and The Pink Reef.

In addition to Old Town, you can check out the Del Ray Vintage & Flea Market on Mount Vernon Avenue from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Visit Alexandria, the Old Town Business Association, and the city put together the Alexandria summer sidewalk sale.
