Must-Have Accessories for the Perfect Bonfire

Set up your fire pit and bonfire with these cute accessories for a great outdoor gathering.

By Maggie Roth October 20, 2023 at 1:44 pm

Just because it’s not summer anymore doesn’t mean the days of outdoor gatherings are over — it just means that if you’re going to spend a lot of time outside, you’ll probably want a fire to keep you warm, whether you are in front of a fire pit or a bonfire. Check out these five accessories that will make sure your fireside gathering is a great one.

Black Steel Fire Pit Spark Screen

A spark screen is an important functional item to have if you’re planning to light a fire. The screen covers the fire to keep ash and sparks from going flying, while still allowing air in so the fire can breathe. This version by Sunnydaze opens on the side so you can reach in to roast s’mores or add kindling without having to take the whole thing off. $215 at Lowes, multiple area locations

Frame Indoor/Outdoor Log Holder

You’ll want to keep your firewood close by, and this indoor-outdoor log holder is the perfect spot. Placing wood in a holder helps keep it away from the damp ground, and seeing it stacked up is a nice visual touch. $249 at Crate & Barrel, multiple area locations

Citronella Incense Coil

Nothing ruins an outdoor gathering like a swarm of mosquitoes. Yes, the little buggers are still around. Keep the pests at bay with this citronella incense spiral from Fredericks and Mae. Citronella will naturally repel insects, and the incense emits a smoky floral scent as it burns. It has a burn time of approximately 36 hours. $18 online at Fredericks and Mae, holder sold separately for $25

Outdoor Popcorn Popper

No firepit gathering would be complete without some snacks. This outdoor popcorn popper lets you pop up to 3 quarts of popcorn in less than five minutes. It has steam vents to let the moisture out and a convenient handle to make the process simple. $28 online at Uncommon Goods

Fishing Pole Campfire Roaster

S’mores are fun no matter what, but a cute fishing pole shaped roaster takes making them over the top. This novelty campfire roaster has skewers on two sides for marshmallows, hot dogs, or anything else you might want to roast, with a shark accent in the middle just for fun. $23 online at Uncommon Goods
