A lively outdoor square in the heart of Reston, Reston Town Center is a walkable mix of shopping, dining, and charm. Whisk your partner over for a date night or bring the whole family — there’s something for everyone to enjoy. The urban development has undergone changes in recent years but retains its vibrance with renovations and new additions.
Pretty brick roads lead the way through the shopping center. The pavilion is the most prominent stop, best known for its transformation into an ice-skating rink every winter. Paired with the recently renovated Mercury Fountain across the street, it makes for an eye-catching centerpiece.
It’s easy to spend a pleasant afternoon wandering around. You might browse the fashion boutiques or get your hair styled with a mimosa in hand at Drybar. For dinner, options range from fast-casual New England classics at Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls to Spain-inspired tapas at Barcelona Wine Bar. Top it all off with a cup of gelato from Pitango.
Beyond the everyday excitement, RTC bustles with events throughout the year. Second Saturday Sip and Stroll days allow visitors to take their favorite local cocktails to the streets. During the summer, Reston Concerts on the Town and Sunday Art in the Park bring live music. On various special events and holidays, you’ll find 5Ks hosted by Potomac River Running. It’s even dog friendly: Swing by on a Wednesday evening for Pups in the Pavillion.
Office buildings and apartments surround the area, and the Reston Town Center Metro station is just a free shuttle away. The parking garages, differentiated by color, are free on weekends, weekdays after 5 p.m., and for the first hour.
With so many gems to explore, you’ll just have to check it out yourself for the full experience.
