More Than 60 Boutique Shops Will Turn Out for the Alexandria Warehouse Sale This Year

It remains to be seen whether shoppers will brave the cold for crazy discounts.

By Laura Scudder January 28, 2022 at 10:15 am

To find a deal on clothes, shoes, jewelry, home goods and furniture, indie brands, and more, NoVA residents can come out to the 18th Annual Alexandria Warehouse Sale, held the first weekend in February.

The sale, presented by Old Town Boutique District and the Old Town Business Association, is once again returning in a walkable format to help maintain social distance while finding the best deals from local vendors throughout Old Town.

Over 60 independent boutiques are coming out for the popular, longest-running winter affair, and shoppers could even score items as discounted as 80 percent off. A full list of participating retailers is available on the Old Town Boutique District’s website.

Made in ALX will also be hosting over 25 regional etsy-style makers in ALX Community’s Waterfront location (201 N. Union Street). Everything from pet products, jewelry, leather goods, paintings, beauty, and more will be available for purchase.

This year’s sale differs a bit from years past—instead of being held in the Westin Alexandria, the sale will be spread out across stores, pop-up tents, and open retail space along King Street and select streets in Old Town Alexandria. A map of each participating vendor’s location is available online.

The hours of annual sale vary by store, and free parking is available in these select City garages: Thompsons Alley Garage, 10 Thompsons Alley, 220 N. Union Street Garage; Market Square Garage, 108 N. Fairfax; Courthouse Garage, 111 S. Pitt Street; Lot at 116 S. Henry Street.

Shoppers can also get in on the fun before the sale even begins by following @alxwarehousesale on Instagram for the chance to win a gift card to a local restaurant to enjoy while out shopping. The sale’s social media will also be sharing sneak peeks of the upcoming weekend, giveaways, and fun activations—like a hot chocolate bar by Fontaine Caffe & Creperie and a step and repeat by VIP Alexandria Magazine.
