Middleburg’s Annual Winter Weekend Sale Returns

Shoppers can glean unique gifts and other items at great prices while experiencing the small town’s charm and hospitality.

By Kelly Magyarics February 11, 2021 at 1:44 pm

Middleburg is home to the oldest fox hunting club in the country. But this coming weekend visitors will be on the hunt for bargains instead.

On Feb. 12, 13 and 14, Middleburg will host its 10th annual Winter Weekend Sale, sponsored by the Town of Middleburg and the Middleburg Business & Professional Association. White and blue balloons outside will identify participating shops, which will offer discounts on shoes, children’s clothes and fall and winter fashions; some of the village’s restaurants will also have dining specials that weekend.

There will be great deals at many spots including accessories at Lou Lou, jewelry at The Byrne Gallery, women’s clothing at Moda Lookbook, pet supplies at Loyal Companion, new and used books at Second Chapter Books, children’s clothes and gifts at The Fun Shop, locally-grown plants and flowers at Nature Composed, lingerie at Le Boudoir and riding gear and equestrian-related products at The Tack Box.

Shoppers are encouraged to fuel up or take a break at one of Middelburg’s restaurants along Washington Street and Federal Street, some of which offer outdoor dining and curbside pick-up options. King Street Oyster Bar is the spot for seafood and fresh oysters, Thaiverse touts authentic Thai cuisine and contemporary American food is on the menu at The Red Fox Inn. Or grab a latte to-go at Middleburg Common Grounds, cold-pressed juice at Greenheart Juice or a sandwich at Middleburg Deli.

If you want to make a weekend of it and be there when stores open to snag the best deals, book a room at The Red Fox Inn, Goodstone Inn or Salamander Resort & Spa.

Visitors to Middleburg and the Winter Weekend Sale are encouraged to follow Virginia’s guidelines for Covid-19 regarding social distancing and face coverings, and you can learn more about Middleburg’s response to the pandemic here.

The sale runs Feb. 12 and 13 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; hours on Sunday will be posted by the participating shops. For more information, visit the town’s website.
