If you have been craving shopping in person versus more online ordering, you’ll want to head to Alexandria next month.
The Alexandria Warehouse Sale, the town’s longest-running winter shopping experience, has expanded to a walkable format. Running Feb. 6-7, 2021, the event will feature nearly 40 independent boutiques located throughout the DC region showing off their wares.
Rather than taking place at spots such as the Masonic Temple or the Westin Hotel like in other years, 2021’s sale will be in stores, pop-up tents and open retail space along King Streets and select side streets, with COVID protocols and social distancing guidelines in place.
Shoppers will be able to score deals on clothing, shoes, jewelry, home furnishing and more from retailers and indie brands, with up to 80% off retail prices, and free parking will be available both days.
Participating retailers include clothing boutiques Bloomers, Imagine Artwear, Periwinkle, The Hive and Vintage Mirage, jewelry shops Gold Works, Kings Jewelers and Wear Ever Jewelry, home and gift purveyors Acme Mid-Century + Modern, Penny Post and The Spice & Tea Exchange of Old Town and health and children’s shops 529 Kids Consign and Pink & Brown Boutique.
Leading up to the sale, sponsors The Old Town Boutique District and The Old Town Business Association will have a pre-shopping contest. Share on Instagram what or where you are most excited to shop for, then turn on notifications for @otboutiques for one of four chances to win a tote bag to use that weekend and a $25 gift card. The weekend of the sale, tag @otboutiques in stores showing off your favorite finds for the chance to win one of six gift cards to local restaurants in celebration of Alexandria Restaurant Week.
The hours for the Feb. 6-7 event vary depending on the stores. For more information check out the sale’s website.
