The Country Store at the Herndon farm and park offers private shopping Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.; call 703-437-9101 to request a 30-minute appointment. The store carries gifts, locally-produced edible treats and farm-themed items like old-fashioned games, puzzles, tractors and toy farm animals. Freedom Park
The outdoor Holiday Fine Arts and Crafts Show takes place on Dec. 5 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with more than 30 local and regional artisans. Colvin Run Mill
The General Store at the Great Falls historic site sells whole wheat flour and cornmeal that’s ground at the mill as well as old-fashioned candy, books, toys and souvenirs. Green Spring Gardens
The shops and garden center are open for shopping for 30-minute appointments Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. through 3 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays. Appointments can be made by calling 703-642-5173 and are limited to individuals or COVID-19 contact pods. Shoppers must answer health screening questions, be subjected to a temperature check and wear a mask. The Gardener’s Gift shop offers horticultural and nature books, gardening tools, gloves and t-shirts and other garden-inspired fashion accessories, decorative arts, home decor and cards. Sully Historic Site
The Squirrel’s Nest Museum Gift Shop is temporarily closed but is available for curbside pickup. Meadowlark Botanical Gardens
