Spring will officially have sprung as of Thursday, March 19.
While many of us are altering our day-to-day routines to function from the home, this is the perfect time to dive deep into spring cleaning your closet, and also practice self-care regimens that make you feel your very best.
Need a little inspiration? We have you covered, as we chatted with some of the region’s most fashionable individuals about what they can’t live without in the rainy, warm and colorful spring season. From beauty products to must-visit local boutiques, here are the spring staples of seven stylists from NoVA and Washington, DC.

Spring Staple Pieces
White sneakers: This is a spring staple for sure and can be worn with literally everything in your wardrobe, but especially spring dresses for a fun and playful look. With more and more people working from home and more people walking outdoors, a pair of sneakers are a comfortable and an essential spring staple and definitely worth the investment.
Versatile blazer: Replace your boxy blazer with a sleek, longer, thigh-length blazer. I love styling a blazer with a pair of jeans and sneakers for an elevated yet relaxed look.
High-rise jeans: Again, with more and more telecommuting over the next few months, fashion choices will be more relaxed and practical and when we look at denim trends, it’s all about the high waist. With a high-waist option, you can also choose a flared, straight leg or skinny jean and best of all, high-waist denim is comfortable. Be sure to choose a pair with some stretch.

Verso Super Eye Serum: I love this retinol eye serum and use it every night under the eye area. It helps diminish fine lines and dark circles.
Olaplex shampoo and conditioner: This is my new favorite shampoo and conditioner to restore my hair and keep it from getting damaged. It leaves my hair softer and more resilient.
Drunk Elephant C Firma Vitamin C Day Serum: Packed with antioxidant combination of l-ascorbic and ferulic acid, it dissolves dead skin cells as it hydrates. It helps the skin look brighter and more radiant and feel smoother and more firm.
Favorite NoVA Destination for Dresses
I shop a lot for clients and myself at Tysons Galleria and lately I have been loving the dresses at Bash, a new boutique at Tysons Galleria. I can’t wait to add a couple to my spring/summer wardrobe.
Tulips or daffodils?
Tulips, for sure!

Chic fleece, matching separates and statement belts. I’m also obsessed with fun loungewear at home. I tell my clients that what they wear during their off time can really fuel relaxation—especially now. It’s a form of self-expression that is important to curate whether you’re relaxing at home or working remotely.

I love Dazzle Dry nail polishes and they have amazing staying power!

I have a rack, and will travel. I love department stores at Pentagon City and Tysons 1 and 2, outlets at Leesburg and Potomac Mills and boutiques from Mosaic to Old Town.
April showers or May flowers?
I’m an Aries, so April all the way.

I can’t live without dresses! They make me feel glamorous like a goddess, plus they’re simple to accessorize. Add a great pair of strappy wedges, an Alex and Ani bangle and a glass of bubbly because Champagne is always great at brunch with the girls.
Latest Beauty Obsessions
Neutrogena Healthy Skin: I have used in for years and it works wonders for my skin.
Monat Rejuvenique Oil: It’s amazing; you can put it in your hair, on your skin and it’s like silk.
Facial Cupping Kit: This keeps my skin on my face and not dragging on the ground.
Urban Decay Perversion Mascara: Last but not least, this one is the business.

Undeniable Boutique and Scout & Molly’s have cute things and my online go-to is always Asos. They have a great selection and a video for every piece of clothing helps you decide if it’s a keeper or not.
Wedges or sandals?
Both! A girl must have options in life—with men and shoes!

Rosana Vollmerhausen, DC Style Factory

White blazer. It is always a sharp statement that has the versatility of a wardrobe essential. It goes with everything, and transforms and elevates any look in an instant. I also love a white loafer. Love doing the refined-tomboy look of a cropped jean with a white loafer in the spring.

As much as I love style, fashion and wardrobe, I am not a makeup aficionado. One of my fellow DC Style Factory stylists, Elizabeth Fitzsimmons, has been encouraging me to try Gucci Westman at Bellacara, so looking forward to experimenting this spring with the line!
Favorite NoVA Destination for Dresses
My style isn’t usually boho, but I can’t resist Ulla Johnson dresses at The Hive.
Pastels or neon?
Pastels! I love a petal pink with burgundy, lavender with navy and sky blue with a poppy red.

Lindsey Evans, Lindsey Evans Studio

I love a white leather sneaker for spring. Adidas, Vince and Common Projects all offer great options.
Latest Beauty Obsessions
I love the Exfoliant from Thyrst Beauty Co. It makes my skin feel baby soft!
Favorite NoVA Destination for Dresses
I love shopping sustainably for myself, so I typically find great things at Current Boutique in Old Town or the Arlington location.
A hat or sunglasses?
I love sunglasses! I have a big collection because I like to refresh my wardrobe with a new pair twice a year. So one for spring/summer—usually a Celine or Dior Aviator. This past fall/winter I went with a classic black and gold pair of Gucci acrylic shades. Updating your sunglasses seasonally is a great way to make your wardrobe feel updated.

Midi skirt!

Tiered dresses make a statement for the spring season with the flowy movement and modern, loose vibe. Multilayered dresses work for brunches, events, daytime outings to nights on the town. Weddings too! Incorporating a floral print for a double dip into two trends. Crop, kick-flare jeans are a fresh silhouette and style to change up your look for spring. We love them in white, paired with a high-heel sandal and statement necklace. Bold shoulder dresses and tops continue to be a statement piece to wear. Loving this in this season’s bolder colors and prints or neutrals.
Latest Beauty Obsessions
I love a Rose Quartz Facial Roller. Chill this in the freezer a bit and I apply Beautycounter’s Countertime Antioxidant Cream to massage this into the face. I’m all about all-natural skin care products for the face, neck and décolletage.
Favorite NoVA Destination for Dresses
Periwinkle in Old Town Alexandria has an amazing selection of spring dresses from casual looks to beach trips to elegant dresses for weddings and events. It is a go-to spot to shop for clients.
Iced coffee or fresh-pressed juice?
I don’t drink juice but love to have an iced coffee or latte with a flavored syrup for the spring season. There are so many great natural-pressed juice options that are light and refreshing too, but I make flavored, flat or sparkling waters to hydrate and be refreshed.
