Get out your Easter baskets. It’s time to add limited-edition eggs to them through a longstanding DC tradition.
Each Easter Season, the official White House Easter Egg is released for a limited amount of time, serving as a collectible item for generations to come. This year, the eggs go on sale on Thursday, March 12, and more than 26,000 will also be given to the children attending the White House Easter Egg Roll on Monday, April 13.
This year’s official White House Easter Eggs’ design features the White House North Portico on the front, and President Trump’s and first lady Melania Trump’s signatures on the back. The egg comes in blue, green, pink and yellow, and the special-edition metallic gold egg features the presidential seal.
Other Easter items on sale this year include an Easter basket, a bunny plush, a 2020 Anna Weatherley Easter egg, an Easter Egg Roll ornament and a bonnets-and-baskets-designed tote bag.
Individual eggs are $8.50 each, the metallic gold eggs are $14.95 each and the full set of five eggs is $34.95. They are available for purchase at whitehousehistory.org and at the White House Historical Association’s retail stores in DC. Additionally, the eggs will be sold near the exit of the Easter Egg Roll near the Ellipse Visitor Center. // The White House History Shop: 1610 H St. NW, Washington, DC and The White House Visitor Center: 1450 Pennsylvania Ave. NW, Washington, DC
