The pre-fall season gives us an opportunity to prepare for textures and thicker fabrics fit for colder temperatures. During those transitional weeks we can still get away with wearing short dresses with peep-toe shoes and short sleeve shirts, and what it really comes down to is layering those pieces accordingly if need be. In preparation for building up your autumnal wardrobe we have selected three prints that you can shop now and wear now into the next season. We’ve selected various pieces within each print along with shoe pairing ideas for each category.
Simple Plaid
This type of print can be classic and minimal, since it doesn’t overwhelm with the color combinations and can be easily worn any time of the day.
Clockwise: Charlotte Olympia Shoes, Myne Shirt, Saint Laurent Handbag, DKNY scarf, Thakoon Mini Skirt, Tory Burch Coat, Alice + Olivia Dress.
Sulky Florals
Each one of these floral pieces’ patterns ranges from less to more severe, which is great about floral prints. You can tweak your overall look when wearing fall florals by pairing them with the right accessories. Depending on the piece, pair it with pumps for a classic look or rocker boots for a more grungy feel.
Clockwise: Marni Coat, Giambattista Valli Dress, Joules Parka, Dolce & Gabbana Shoes, Rebecca Taylor Dress, Nancy Gonzales Clutch, Valentino Dress.
Geometrical Shapes
These are modern, ’70s inspired geometrical and symmetrical prints for those looking to avoid fall’s darker shades. Try to keep the print size proportional to your height so the outfit does not overwhelm your figure.
Clockwise: Peter Pilotto Dress, Marni Dress, Sergio Rossi Shoes, Peter Pilotto Skirt, MSGM Top, Charlotte Olympia Clutch.
