NoVA native Dermot Mulroney, 61, has filed for divorce from his wife, Prima Apollinaare, Today reported. The couple has been married for nearly 15 years.

Mulroney, known for roles in the movie My Best Friend’s Wedding and the NBC series Chicago Fire, was born in Alexandria. He attended Alexandria City High School (then T.C. Williams High School).

Mulroney filed for a dissolution of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences, according to Today. He asked the courts to terminate spousal support for Apollinaare and to grant him spousal support instead.

Mulroney and Apollinaare, an Italian musician, have been married since December 2010. They appeared together on the Fox game show We Are Family in February 2024, according to Entertainment Weekly.

The pair have two daughters, age 15 and 17. Mulroney asked the courts for joint legal and physical custody. He also has one son, 26, with ex-wife Catherine Keener, to whom he was married from 1990 to 2007.

People reported that a source said the divorce was “amicable.”
